Nebraska football landed another big commitment for the offensive line on Sunday, as 2025 three-star lineman Houston Kaahaaina-Torres committed to the program. He made the announcement on X.

Kaahaaina-Torres is a three-star commit. He is the 43rd overall interior offensive lineman in the 2025 class, and the top layer in his class from the state of Hawaii per the 247Sports composite rankings. This marks the second year in a row that Nebraska football has landed the top player from the state. They also were able to get a commitment from Preston Taumua  last year.

Kaahaaina-Torres was recruited to Nebraska by Donovan Raiola, making it the second commitment for the offensive line coach in less than a week.

This is a big commitment for Nebraska football for several reasons. For one, this helps solidify the offensive line. The Huskers needed depth at the offensive line spot for future classes, and Kaahaaina-Torres adds to it. He is a very polished player, and is someone that fits Raiola’s style.

Secondly, he brings physicality and athleticism to the offensive line. He fits the mold of the other offensive lineman in the 2024 and 2025 classes. He is physical yet agile. As soon as the ball is snapped, he extends his arms and is able to gain the upper hand on his man.

One of the things that is particularly noticeable about his game is his ability to create a clean pocket for the quarterback. He is very efficient with his movements when he blocks. He doesn’t backpedal too much. Technique -wise he is very sound. He still has room to grow, and this is certainly possible with this Nebraska football coaching staff. He is the perfect type of player for this group, one that specializes in developing offensive lineman.

2025 Nebraska Football recruiting class coming together

This commitment as to what has been a busy couple of days for the Huskers.  Kaahaaina-Torres is the 13th overall commitment in the 2025 class. The class itself is ranked 38th overall in the country per the 247Sports Team Rankings. This class is pretty solid as it stands right now. Obviously, there is still a long way to go. In-season recruiting should be quite a bit of fun, especially if Nebraska football starts winning.

Overall, this has been a successful couple of days for the program. They filled a need at offensive line and they were able to land another top player from the state of Hawaii. The 2025 recruiting class is sitting pretty as we head into July.
