For the second week in a row, Nebraska football landed a commitment from the 2026 recruiting class. Last Sunday, it was three-star quarterback Dayton Raiola.
This past Sunday, one day after his visit for the Rutgers win, three-star wideout Dveyoun Bonwell-Witte, who is the second-best player in the state of South Dakota for the 2026 class at No. 524 overall according to the 247 Sports composite rankings, committed to the Huskers.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound wide receiver also had offers from Kansas State, Minnesota, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin. Minnesota was making a strong push along with Nebraska football, but following his visit and a win by the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Bonwell-Witte became the Huskers’ second 2026 pledge.
“I love everything about Nebraska!” Bonwell-Witte said to Husker Online. “It’s a team that has grown on me for the last three years. It feels like home every time I step foot in the building. So, I decided to commit.”
According to Bryan Munson, he was clocked with a 4.57 last summer, which isn’t bad at all for a rising junior, especially one who is 6-foot-1 and is a pretty solid route runner. All in all, this is a solid commitment for Nebraska football. They beat out teams like Minnesota and Kansas State for a kid within the region and added a bigger wide receiver to the 2026 class to pair with Dayton Raiola.
Nebraska football offers Louisville commitment in 2025
Speaking of Dayton Raiola, the future Nebraska Cornhuskers quarterback launched a 64-yard touchdown pass on Friday. The wideout he completed it to Jordan Allen, is a 2025 recruit committed to Louisville.
However, over the weekend, the Nebraska Cornhuskers offered the 5-foot-8, 170-pound pass catcher who is ranked as the No. 755 recruit in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.
It will be interesting to see if Nebraska can gain any traction. He plays at Buford and is the current teammate of Dayton Raiola, as well as a former teammate of Nebraska starter Dylan Raiola.
