Nebraska football has another Elite 11 quarterback in the room. 2025 four-star quarterback TJ Lateef was invited to the finals this summer in Los Angeles,

Lateef is the 17th overall quarterback in the 2025 class, and the 23rd overall player in his class from the state of California per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He officially committed to Nebraska on May 12.

The quarterback is coming off a 2023 season that saw him record 1,965 yards, 13 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.

A big moment for Nebraska Football

This is certainly a big moment for the program moving forward. This is now the second year in a row that they have had a quarterback represented at the Elite 11 finals. Dylan Raiola and Daniel Kaelin both showed out at the event. Raiola was ranked as the second-best quarterback overall at the event per On3’s Charles Power. Kaelin was 12th

The fact that Lateef is a part of this event just shows that Nebraska football has done a good job of evaluating quarterback talent over the past couple classes. In the case of Lateef, a lot of the credit goes to quarterbacks coach Glenn Thomas. The program moved quickly in Lateef’s recruitment, making him feel like a priority. Thomas was a part of that.

Nebraska football is generating a nice quarterback room, both right now and for the future. Lateef certainly has a ton of skill, with arm strength and pocket presence being just two of the things he possesses. This is setting up the program nicely for the future, as they look to compete in a crowded big 10 conference.

It will be exciting to see how Lateef can do at the Finals. Furthermore, it gives the Nebraska football program additional exposure. They have been in the national spotlight quite a bit recently, with a good amount of exposure coming from the potential of the quarterback room. Now, they get a chance to add to that reputation.

We saw last year how much a good quarterback could make a difference for the program. When you compare the quarterback from last year to the quarterback room right now, this program is in a much better spot.
