If you haven’t been paying attention to the 2026 recruiting class, it’s time to start. Nebraska football has several visits scheduled with top targets this spring and in the summer.
Some recruits, such as offensive tackle Rex Waterman, have visits scheduled in the spring and the summer. That’s the way to win a recruitment so an out-of-state prospect, especially one that isn’t in the 500-mile radius.
One recruit who fits that bill is four-star EDGE Luke Wafle. He’s 6-foot-5, 245 pounds, and the top-ranked player in the state of New Jersey according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. Wafle is ranked 92nd overall in the 2026 class and will visit Nebraska football on April 5th.
North Carolina just hosted him for a visit. Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Texas will also get to host Wafle this spring. Penn State is scheduled for an official visit this summer. The Nittany Lions are the only team with that right now, but surely, getting an official visit locked in is the objective of this spring visit for Matt Rhule’s staff.
If that happens, the Huskers can be labeled a serious contender for one of the top pass rushers in the entire 2026 class. Penn State is the leader according to the On3 prediction machine but has just a 33 percent chance, so this recruitment is still wide open.
