Nebraska football is in the midst of spring practices, which is a key time on the recruiting trail, and Thursday, the Huskers hosted a pair of 2026 commitments for visits.
Dayton Raiola was one of the recruits on campus. The 2026 three-star quarterback commitment continues to reaffirm his pledge to the Huskers. His visit on Thursday felt even more important because it coincided with the visit of three-star wide receiver commitment Dveyoun Bonwell-Witte.
Bonwell-Witte was the first commitment of the 2026 Nebraska football recruiting class. Yet, he committed when Garret McGuire was the wide receivers coach, and there wasn’t much contact between the 6-foot-3, 190-pound receiver and the Huskers after a new position coach was hired.
There were rumors that Bonwell-Witte could de-commit from Nebraska football. He still could, but this visit was a big step toward keeping him in the class. He’s also expected to take an official visit this summer. The wideout is ranked third in South Dakota in the 2026 class and No. 682 overall according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.
Fast-rising tight end is visiting Nebraska football
Luke Sorensen, a 6-foot-4, 230-pound tight end from Servite, California, will visit Nebraska football this weekend, according to Tim Verghese of Rivals. He’s also scheduled for an official visit this summer.
Nebraska might have its work cut out for it, though. USC just picked up a crystal ball projection to land Sorensen earlier this week. The tight end is ranked No. 733 overall in the 2026 class but has official visits set up with Penn State, Miami, Texas, Texas A&M, and Nebraska.
We’ll see if USC gets an official visit, but the Trojans are a team to watch, and with Nebraska fading with in-state tight end Isaac Jensen, this weekend’s visit is an important one.
Three-star offensive lineman Ryan Miret, who is ranked No. 657 overall in the 2026 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings, will take an official visit to Nebraska football on June 6-8. He’ll also visit Miami and Ole Miss.
Miret visited the Huskers already this spring. However, he’s from Miami and already has a crystal ball projection to the Hurricanes from 247 Sports. He’s visited Miami eight times.
