Nebraska football has landed three Elite 11 quarterbacks in the past two classes and now the focus, at least in terms of quarterback recruiting is on 2026.

The Huskers still have to hold onto the commitment of TJ Lateef, a four-star quarterback in 2025 out of California. But he says he’s 100 percent committed, even though he did say in an interview his recruitment wasn’t 100 percent closed.

There haven’t been any rumblings about him and other programs having mutual interest, so I wouldn’t be worried. Like I said, now, it’s time to focus on 2026 and there are some familiar names on the board, as well as a new one in four-star Michael Clayton out of Seminole, Florida.

Another QB target to know in 2026 for Nebraska football

Clayton is 6-foot-3, 200 pounds, and ranked No. 360 overall in the 2026 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. Clayton was offered last month after a strong camp performance and his popularity has been on the rise with nine power-4 offers in the past month.

Nebraska has offered 19 quarterbacks total but 10 of them have already committed to other teams. Dayon Raiola is one of the names the Huskers are focused on. He’s the younger brother of Dylan Raiola and has been to campus a few times.

Case Vanden Bosch is another name that feels higher up on the board for the Huskers, but truth be told, most of the top-ranked targets are off the board. Raiola and Vanden Bosch are unranked right now in the 247 Sports composite rankings and of the 13 who are ranked and have been offered by Nebraska, 10 are committed to other teams already.

Clayton is one of the three who isn’t and according to Bryan Munson of Husker Online, he’s looking to make a trip back to Lincoln. Clayton said he’d like to visit in late July or for the Colorado game but either way, he’s a name Husker fans should remember among 2026 quarterbacks.
