Despite the loss to Michigan this past weekend, it was still a productive recruiting weekend for Nebraska football.

The 2027 class is off to a great start with the commitments of Tory Pittman, Trae Taylor, and Matt Erickson. Four-star running back Isaiah Rodgers really seemed to enjoy his visit, while the Huskers clearly made headway with No. 1 overall recruit, offensive tackle Kennedy Brown.

Brown will be a tough recruit to pull. Still, the Huskers have played their cards right — about as well as possible — up to this point, so you never know. Rodgers would be the elite kind of running back the Huskers have missed out on under Matt Rhule, and would be a great addition to have in the backfield in the future

Even though it’s hard to expect commitments during gameday visits, the Huskers appear to have landed at least one, according to Hayes Fawcett of Rivals, who posted the Corn emoji on Monday afternoon.

It hasn’t been accompanied by any expert projections or crystal balls, but since Hayes makes the graphics for recruits, you can trust him when he says a commitment is coming.

Nebraska football loses a 2026 commitment

Dveyoun Bonwell-Witte finally decommited from Nebraska on Tuesday. After the three-star wideout from South Dakota didn’t visit this summer, or even this fall, it was clear where things were headed.

This isn’t one Nebraska football fans shouldn’t have much heartburn about. The Huskers already have a new target in mind at wide receiver, extending an offer to four-star wideout Milan Parris, an Iowa State commitment, on Monday.

Out of Arkon, Ohio, Parris is ranked 299th overall via the On3 Industry rankings. He’s 6-foot-4, 205 pounds. The Huskers offered on Monday, which is late in the process. They did the same thing with Julian Walker, a Michigan commitment, not long ago.

If they can get Parris on campus for a visit, all bets are off. But to salvage this 2026 class, at least a few flips need to come to fruition down the stretch.
