Matt Rhule does one of the coolest things he’s done as Nebraska head coach

Nebraska football head coach Matt Rhule has done some cool stuff, but his latest video was one of his best moments.

Matt Rhule is more than just a good football coach. He’s a good dude, and Nebraska football fans got another glimpse of that on Monday.

At least they did if they saw the latest video released by the Nebraska football program on social media.

Rhule is always being innovative. He’s also thinking about what’s best for his players — even the guys who aren’t on the field.

One of the most difficult things about being injured in college football is that nobody knows about what you’re doing. Teams don’t like to be open about injuries. They hide things like it’s Fort Knox.

It’s kind of silly, and Rhule went against the grain on Monday, giving a video tour of the weight room, speaking to each player on the injured list, and showing that they are “still grinding.”

“There is no growth without stress,” Rhule said in the video. Then, after walking into the weight room, he said, “These are our surgical guys, our long-term guys. They work their tails off.”

Rhule then stopped and talked to players like freshman Jamarion Parker, wide receiver Demetrius Bell, and also true freshman Tyson Terry, who is listed at 6-foot-2, 310 pounds after becoming the only heavyweight wrestler in the state of Nebraska to win four straight state championships.

The main point was to show Nebraska fans that these guys are working hard. Rhule clearly wanted to give them credit for the work they are doing. They didn’t get to practice and take part in the Big Red Preview.

But Rhule gave them their due anyway, which, in my humble opinion, is one of the coolest things, among many, that he’s done as Nebraska football head coach.
