Duncan Brune Jr. is a name Husker fans need to know. He was All-Mac Preseason after 585 rushing yards last season and eight touchdowns. Safety DJ Walker, who had two interceptions last season and was First-Team All-Mac Preseason, is another player to watch along with All-MAC linebacker Jack Fries.

Ohio’s defense had just 12 interceptions and 22 sacks last season, similar to Nebraska. The Huskers will have Anthony Colandrea for the first time. Matt Rhule has said this is his best team, so Nebraska football should win with ease on Saturday.

What’s interesting is that Colandrea played his last game for UNLV against Ohio, the same team that will be in Lincoln on Saturday. The Rebels scored just 10 points in a bowl loss.

Colandrea was 19 of 30 for 184 yards and an interception. He also ran the ball nine times for 28 yards (3.1). So Ohio will be prepared. If Colandrea plays as he did in the bowl game, this could get interesting.

Ohio allowed 4.4 yards per attempt last season. The Bobcats also lost a bunch of starters, but with the transfer portal, it’s hard to know how good these teams will be.

For Nebraska, it shouldn’t matter, and it won’t, although Ohio could cover the spread.
