Nebraska Football: Isaiah McMorris visit positive sign for Nebraska

on

Nebraska football had several visitors on Saturday, including wide receiver Isaiah McMorris. McMorris is a member of the 2024 recruiting class, and is currently being recruited by wide receivers coach Garret McGuire.

McMorris is the 66th overall wide receiver in the 2024 class, and the third overall player in his class from the state of Nebraska per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He has an offer sheet that includes the likes of Oklahoma, Penn State, and Iowa in addition to Nebraska.

McMorris is scheduled to take another visit to Lincoln on March 25 as part of that big visit weekend.

McMorris brings an element of speed to his game. He is not the biggest at 6 feet, 170 pounds. Nevertheless, he brings an element of speed to his game. This is evident in the things he can do after the catch, and his versatility. He has the ability to run after deep balls, as well as take a screen play and make things happen after the catch.

What does this visit mean for Nebraska football?

The visit on Saturday is certainly a positive sign for Nebraska football. On top of that, it was unexpected.  It means he is doing his homework on the program. It gives him a chance to reconnect with McGuire, and see the campus once again. The more visits McMorris takes to Nebraska, the better it may be for the program. An in-state kid is making Nebraska very much a part of the equation. With the talent coming up in these future classes, that is also something to consider.

Nebraska football did a good job of keeping several recruits home for the 2023 class. Especially with the coaching change, the fact that they were able to retain several recruits was a promising sign. Now, they will have their chance to make an impact in the 2024 class. This could also be the first big recruit for McGuire, and that would certainly be a notch in his belt.

McMorris is a dynamic playmaker who could find the field in short order should he commit to Nebraska.  This visit on Saturday could have larger implications, as Nebraska looks to close the deal on an underrated recruit in McMorris, during what is going to be a busy month.
