Nebraska football will be hosting three-star Texas offensive lineman Gibson Pyle for a visit on Saturday. This was confirmed by Hail Varsity’s Greg Smith.
Pyle is the 33rd overall interior offensive lineman in the 2025 for class per the 247Sports Composite rankings. He has a lengthy offer sheet, spanning 24 offers in total. Right now, it appears that North Carolina is in the lead for his services. Most recently, he received an offer from North Texas on February 24.
What could he bring to Nebraska Football?
Pyle measures in at six-foot-four, 285 pounds. He is a very physical run blocker, and is not afraid to throw his man down to the ground in an effort to make a hole. He finishes his blocks with ease, and that is noticeable especially in the running game. This would serve Nebraska football well, as they look to revamp the offensive line and make it a stronger unit.
Pyle’s ability to extend his hands quickly allows for that strength to take over. As soon as he gets his man down, lanes immediately open up, particularly in the running game.
A Pyle commitment to Nebraska would make sense, given that he is from the state of Texas and that he is a physical lineman. This is one of those cases where he may fly a bit under the radar, given the amount of talent in the state of Texas.
Currently, the Nebraska football program is one commitment in the 2024 class. Texas athlete Roger Gradney holds that distinction, and it will be intriguing to see how the program fills out the rest of the class.
It’s always good to address the offensive line, and Nebraska football seems to be doing so. Pyle certainly needs a little bit more work in terms of technique, but the raw skill and strength is undeniable. It will be interesting to see what comes of this visit.
