The latest NCAA tournament bracketology updates have Nebraska basketball teams trending up.

Nebraska basketball answered a huge question on Wednesday night, as the Huskers went to Indiana and won their first conference road game of the season by 15 points.

It was a dominant effort. Indiana made a run to get within six in the second half but led by Keisei Tominaga, Jamarques Lawrence, and Brice Williams, the Huskers always had the answer.

Tominaga hit four triples and scored 20 points. Lawrence continued to shine off the bench and scored 19 points in just 24 minutes. The sophomore guard was 5-for-5 from 3-point range and pitched in with six rebounds and five assists.

Winning on the road improved Nebraska’s Big Ten record to 9-7 and 19-8 overall. The Huskers are fifth in the Big Ten standings (half a game behind Northwestern). They have four games left: Michigan and Ohio State on the road plus Rutgers and Minnesota at home.

All four are winnable. But as long as Nebraska wins at least two, the Huskers should go to the NCAA tournament. Joe Lunardi still has the Huskers among the last four first-round byes. Nebraska is currently a No. 10 seed according to Lunardi. They are also present in 104 of 106 total bracketology projections according to Bracket Martrix.

Nebraska women’s basketball bracketology

Nebraska women’s basketball is also trending up in bracketology after a 75-50 win over Northwestern on Wednesday. Freshman Natalie Potts had 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Logan Nissley, a freshman, added 12 points and six assists.

Nebraska is 18-9 overall and 10-6 in the Big Ten. The Huskers have a one-game lead for fourth in the Big Ten and own the tiebreaker on fifth-place Michigan State.

ESPN’s bracketology has the Huskers projected to be a No. 8 seed in the Columbia region. That would mean a date with South Carolina in the round of 32, but if both Nebraska basketball teams make the NCAA tournament, it will be one hell of a season for Huskers fans.
