You have probably heard this before but you can’t coach size and Nebraska football target Matt Erickson was blessed with being 6-foot-8, 280 pounds.
The man can also play offensive tackle and even though he’s a recruit in the 2027 class, a rising sophomore, Nebraska football has already been projected to land his commitment after his visit over the weekend.
Erickson, who is from Millard West, was offered by Nebraska football earlier this spring. Matt Rhule visited him personally and the massive offensive tackle, who will be one of the top prospects in the state for the 2027 recruiting class, was back for an unofficial visit this weekend.
Erickson posted some pictures of his visit and really seemed to enjoy himself. On Monday, that was reinforced by a crystal ball projection to commit to Nebraska by Brian Christopherson of 247 Sports.
Bryan Munson of Husker Online is also projecting Erickson to the Huskers, which has made them the heavy favorite according to the On3 prediction machine.
Nebraska football projected to land a 2026 in-state recruit too
Erickson is unranked in the 2027 class at this point. Another unranked in-state prospect, this time in the 2026 class, is Jase Reynolds, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound EDGE.
Reynolds earned an offer from Nebraska football at a camp earlier this summer and was also on campus this past weekend. The linebacker runs the 40-meter dash in 4.5 and last season, playing for Elkhorn North, he had 57 tackles, five TFLs, and two interceptions. He also played wide receiver (242 receiving yards, 92 rushing yards, four touchdowns).
Matt Rhule loves dynamic athletes and Reynolds ran well during a Nebraska camp this summer. He was personally offered by Rhule and after his visit this past weekend, Munson is projecting him to be N too.
