Nebraska football has gone a few months without a commitment, but right now, it still feels like the Huskers are setting the stage for a big summer.

This spring has been a busy one. The recruiting visits have been more spread out, probably because Nebraska football isn’t holding a traditional spring game, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

The Huskers have a solid board set up of targets, especially for a class that’s expected to be much smaller than usual. Currently, it feels like this is headed toward a 15-man recruiting class, or something in that range. Nebraska has only offered three in-state prospects so far, and I don’t expect that to change.

Nebraska football has some talented recruits coming for official visits this summer, and two of them were just on campus over the weekend — four-star wideouts Ryan Mosley and Nalin Scott.

Mosley is from Georgia. He’s 6-foot-2, 205 pounds, and is ranked No. 237 overall in the 2026 class according to the On3 Industry rankings. Georgia is the favorite, but this was Mosley’s second visit. He will also be back for an official visit, so the Huskers are doing everything they can do to win his commitment.

And it’s working, to some extent. Mosley told Chad Simmons of On3.com that Nebraska football is a “contender” for his commitment. That official visit looms large. Scott, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound pass catcher, told Bryan Munson of Husker Online that he would be back for an official visit, which is another great sign for the Huskers.

Scott is ranked No. 311 overall in the 2026 class according to the On3 Industry rankings. Georgia leads according to the On3 prediction machine. Nebraska football is currently in fourth, but with an official visit looming, the Huskers have a fighting chance to land both Scott and Mosley.

Huskers finish off a sweep in softball

Northwestern had only lost once this season in Big Ten play before the three-game set against Nebraska. On Monday, Jordy Bahl delivered another stellar game, tossing a complete-game shutout in a 3-0 win over the Wildcats. Bahl had a season-high 14 strikeouts. She also had an RBI double.

The win clinched a three-game sweep for the Huskers over Northwestern. Nebraska softball is 32-13 overall and 11-3 in the Big Ten, 1.5 games behind Oregon and UCLA for first place. Both of those teams are 12-1.

Bahl was named Big Ten Pitcher of the Week once again. She struck out 25 batters in two games against the Wildcats, who hadn’t dropped a Big Ten series since 2022.

Huskers land two transfers in women’s basketball

Nebraska women’s basketball coach Amy Williams was busy on Monday, adding two players from the transfer portal. Hailey Weaver was added from Northwestern. She didn’t play last season but averaged 7.9 points per game in the 2023-24 season, in addition to shooting 36 percent from 3-point range, and averaging over a steal per game.

Eliza Maulpin, a 6-foot-3 forward from Kansas State, was also added. She averaged 3.9 points and 2.8 rebounds for the Wildcats last season in 12 minutes per game. She also shot 62 percent from the field.

Maulpin and Weaver will each have one season left to play.
