Nebraska football cornerback commitment CJ Bronaugh continues to wow this spring with his speed.
At an Under Armour Camp in Orlando this weekend, Bronaugh ran a 4.39 in the 40-yard dash. The 6-foot-1 cornerback who also runs the 100-meter dash in 10.3, and is ranked in the top 100 overall according to 247 Sports in the 2026 class, posted on X that he’s run the fastest 40 time at every camp that he’s been to.
It was reported recently that Bronaugh will be visiting a slew of other programs this spring. He also has an official visit scheduled with Penn State, along with his visit to Nebraska football.
Hopefully, the Huskers can hold onto his commitment, because Bronaugh looks like a star.
More Nebraska football staff shakeup
Vince Guinta, who has worked for Nebraska football dating back to the 2004 season will no longer be on the staff of Matt Rhule according to Sean Callahan of Husker Online.
Nebraska football just hired a new general manager, Pat Stewart, to the tune of 800K per year in salary. He comes from the NFL and it was a home-run hire. Guinta was the senior director of player personnel for the past three seasons, but surely he’ll have other opportunities.
Rough weekend on the diamond for the Huskers
The Nebraska softball team dropped two of three games to open the Big Ten season against Ohio State in Columbus. The Huskers won the opening game, 9-5 as Jordy Bahl earned a complete-game victory with two earned runs allowed on six hits. She also had 12 strikeouts and reached her 100th of the season, as well as the 500th of her career.
Bahl also belted a two-run home run in the win. Hannah Camenzind also hit a home run as part of a three-hit, three-RBI game.
The Huskers had four home runs on Saturday, including one from Bahl, but it wasn’t enough to overcome a great day from the OSU offense in a 13-12 defeat, before dropping the series with a 12-6 defeat on Sunday.
It was also a rough weekend for the Huskers baseball team. They were swept by UCLA, falling to 1-5 on the season in the Big Ten. Nebraska scored just eight runs. They dropped the first game 5-2, before losing the next two 11-3 and 5-3.
