Things are starting to pick up in the 2026 recruiting class for Nebraska football, and on Friday, a top in-state target, Isaac Jensen, included the Cornhuskers in his top 10.

The 6-foot-6, 205-pound eight end from Millard South is ranked as a three-star recruit according to the 247 Sports composite rankings and is ranked No. 648 overall.

Nebraska football has offered just two in-state recruits in the 2026 class, but Jensen is one of them. Jensen might not be ranked as an elite recruit, however, he’s got an impressive offer sheet. The other finalists include Notre Dame, Missouri, Florida State, Auburn, Kansas State, LSU, Texas A&M, Wisconsin, and Iowa State.

Nebraska football is the favorite, according to the On3 prediction machine. The Cornhuskers also have the lone crystal ball projection for him from 247 Sports.

Nebraska Cornhuskers open Big Ten play in baseball

Nebraska baseball (4-6) will open Big Ten play with a three-game set at home against Washington. Due to weather, the game on Friday was pushed to Saturday, which will now be a doubleheader with a third game on Sunday.

After losing their ace earlier this week, Mason McConnaughey, Ty Horn will take over the No. 1 spot in the rotation. Will Walsh and Jackson Brockett will also start this weekend.

Nebraska baseball hasn’t been great offensively. Freshman Devin Nunez hit 7-of-14 last weekend and was Big Ten Freshman of the Week. He also had two home runs. Gabe Swansen is leading the Cornhuskers with 10 RBI. Cayden Brumbaugh has four multi-hit games. Cael Frost also had two home runs last weekend.

The first game on Saturday will start at 1 p.m. CST. Game two will be 45 minutes after. Both games will be streamed on BTN+. The radio broadcast can be heard on Huskers.com. Sunday’s game will start at noon.

Nebraska softball hosting its “Spring Fling”

The Nebraska softball team has four non-conference games this weekend as the Cornhuskers are hosting the Spring Fling. Northern Iowa, Northern Colorado, and South Dakota State will all be in attendance.

Nebraska softball will play Northern Iowa on Saturday at 11 a.m., followed by Northern Colorado at 1:30 p.m. The Huskers will play Northern Iowa again on Sunday at 4 p.m., then will close out the weekend against South Dakota State (6:30 p.m.).

Jordy Bahl has been a force for the Huskers, leading the team in batting average (.508) in addition to seven home runs and 18 RBI.

Bahl also has a team-high of nine doubles. She’s been special on the mound, too, with an 8-3 record and a 1.43 ERA. She also has 80 strikeouts and 15 walks in 63 innings pitched, as well as a no-hitter and three complete games. Ava Kuszak is another weapon at the plate, batting .421 with team highs of 12 home runs and 30 RBI.

Nebraska women’s basketball bounced from the Big Ten tournament

Nebraska women’s basketball battled against UCLA in the Big Ten quarterfinals on Friday, trailing by just two at the half against the fourth-ranked team. However, the Bruins pulled away for an 85-74 win.

Nebraska got 24 points from Britt Prince, who connected on 4-of-5 shots from deep. Alexis Markowski added 11. The Huskers have been projected to make the NCAA tournament, according to ESPN, and shouldn’t have to sweat on selection Sunday.
