3 official visitors likely to commit to Nebraska football this weekend or soon after

Nebraska football should be landing more 2027 commitments soon, and here are three candidates to commit this weekend, or soon after.

Nebraska football is set to kick off its official visit season in earnest this weekend as the Huskers are expected to host 14 2027 recruits for official visits.

Some of the players visiting are already committed to Nebraska football. Many aren’t, but have been trending with expert projections to be N.

Five-star offensive lineman Albert Simien is the biggest name on campus this weekend. I wouldn’t expect a commitment from him this weekend, if at all, but the Huskers continue to put their best foot forward.

However, Matt Rhule’s program is in a good spot, as the projected leader with seven different recruits who haven’t committed yet. It feels like there is a chance for Nebraska to land multiple commitments this weekend, or soon after, and here are the three most likely to pull the trigger on a commitment on the first official visit weekend.

3-star DL Errol Demontagnac

The 6-foot-3, 270-pound defensive lineman out of Florida visited the Huskers this spring. He will come back for an official visit this weekend, and Nebraska currently has a 96 percent chance to land his commitment. Two more expert projections came in on Saturday for the defensive lineman, as well as a trio of recent crystal balls.

Errol Demontagnac is listed as 290 pounds by 247 Sports. Florida State is also on the schedule for an official visit for the three-star who was highly productive in the Sunshine State last season with 87 tackles, 30 TFLs, 14 sacks, and three forced fumbles.

Expect an announcement this weekend. The Huskers are trending hard for a commitment.

4-star CB Jailen Hill

Nebraska is in a strong position to land Hill, who is ranked No. 276 overall, according to Rivals. He’s 6-foot-3, 160 pounds, and is ranked 32nd among cornerbacks in the 2027 class. Ole Miss offered in April. Washington received an official visit recently.  USC was supposed to get one, but Hill has a commitment date set for June 9th.

That’s a few days after his Nebraska football visit. All of the expert projections from Rivals and crystal ball projections favor Nebraska, so it would be shocking if Hill wasn’t a Husker by Tuesday.

Hill, who is listed as a safety by 247 Sports, was credited with 18 pass breakups last season.

4-star WR Matthew Gregory

Outside of Simien, the highest-rated recruit not committed on campus this weekend will be four-star wideout Matthew Gregory, a 6-foot, 170-pounder ranked 97th overall via Rivals in the 2027 class.

Gregory was expected to visit LSU this weekend, but canceled that trip to move up his official visit to Nebraska to this weekend. That feels significant. There aren’t any official visits on the schedule after this.

Gregory has been trending hard to Nebraska, too. The Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine gives Nebraska a 94-percent chance to land his commitment. After this official visit, it feels like a commitment could come anytime.
