The Nebraska softball team is the top-seeded team in its region for a reason.

Nebraska has won 24 games in a row. The Huskers have the best two-way player in the sport, the best pitcher in the sport, and one of the best 1-2 punches in the sport.

Beyond a total of eight all-region players, such as Hannah Coor and Hannah Camenzind, who have routinely stepped up at the plate for Nebraska softball during this run, Frahm and Jensen are the biggest reasons why the Huskers are two wins away from reaching the Women’s College World Series.

The pair combined to allow one run on four hits in three games during the first regional. Oklahoma State will be a taller task. Ok State was seeded 13th nationally in the NCAA Tournament, compared to fourth for Nebraska.

Ruby Meylan gives Oklahoma State the best chance to win. The 29-win pitcher with a 2.29 ERA will probably be in the circle as much as possible for the Cowgirls, much like Frahm last season.

Frahm has pitched a lot. She’s got 19 wins this season, but has tossed 76 fewer innings than Meylan this season. That’s the impact of Jensen. The fact that Frahm will be fresh, and the fact that Nebraska has another legitimate ace available, is a major advantage heading into Thursday’s Super Regional.

Another is going to be the home-field advantage.

“I’m staring to call Husker Nation 𝘛𝘩𝘦 10𝘵𝘩 𝘔𝘢𝘯 because they can be such a difference-maker,” Big Ten softball expert Sydney Supple said.

So the fans and the pitching depth. Another advantage is the offense. Nebraska hits .332 compared to .318 for Oklahoma State. The Huskers also have 90 home runs compared to 67 for Oklahoma State.
