Nebraska football has a huge game this weekend against Michigan. It’s also going to be a huge weekend on the recruiting trail, too.
The Huskers are always trying to show off the Gameday atmosphere at Memorial Stadium, which is as good as any in college football. Lincoln should be electric for the Michigan game, as Matt Rhule seeks a defining win. The Huskers will also be seeking to end a 25-game losing streak against top-25 teams, which dates back to 2016.
With the No. 1 overall recruit in 2027, offensive tackle Kennedy Brown, expected to be on campus for a visit, it would be a great time for Nebraska football to prove it belongs among the elites in college football again.
Nebraska football will host 11 recruits total in the 2027 class this weekend. Brown isn’t the only five-star expected on campus. Tory Pittman, the Huskers’ five-star in-state commitment, will be on campus for the second week in a row, along with most of the 2026 commitments.
Trae Taylor will visit, too, along with two other top-100 prospects in the 2027 class. Juju Johnson, a four-star cornerback ranked 24th by Rivals, will visit, along with four-star wideout Matthew Gregory (No. 29).
Another name Nebraska football fans need to know is four-star running back Isaiah Rodgers. The 5-foot-10, 190-pound back from Massachusetts is another top target. The Huskers have struggled to land top-tier running backs under Matt Rhule, but Rodgers (No. 149 overall) could change that.
The running back will be among 10 blue-chip recruits visiting in 2027, according to Husker Online. Nebraska will also host a pair of top-100 recruits in the 2028 class — Carter Barrett (IOL, No. 97) and Ridge Jones (TE, No. 99).
Nebraska was hoping to get Michigan commitment Julian Walker, a four-star EDGE in the 2026 class, on campus for this weekend’s game against the Wolverines, but there hasn’t been anything to suggest it will happen. At least so far. However, the Huskers will host Syracuse commit Kamron Wilson, another EDGE prospect who is a talented pass rusher.
Overall, it’s a star-studded recruiting weekend for Nebraska football, which would make a win over the Wolverines even more meaningful for the future of the program.
