Nebraska football received a new crystal ball in the 2025 class, but a 2024 target is trending in the wrong direction.

Ever since the hire of Matt Rhule as the head coach, Nebraska football has done a stellar job of recruiting the state of Nebraska.

That was true in the 2023 and 2024 classes. Things are also off to a strong start in the 2025 class and it looks like that will continue with three-star athlete Pierce Mooberry, a three-star EDGE prospect from Millard North who is 6-foot-4, 200 pounds.

Mooberry recently visited Nebraska football and with the new crystal ball projection on Wednesday, which is now the third for the Huskers to land the No. 5 recruit in the state according to 247 Sports.

The Huskers have been ramping up their recruiting efforts in the 2025 class. They just recently offered a new quarterback as well earlier this week.

However, there is still one target on the board in the 2024 recruiting class and Arizona defensive end/EDGE prospect Keona Wilhite. The former Washington Huskies signee visited Nebraska football a couple of weeks ago. Tony White also visited him in Arizona last week.

Earlier this week, Wilhite cut his list down to three teams: Nebraska, UCLA, and Michigan State. The Spartans also hosted Wilhite for a visit. UCLA’s been recruiting Wilhite hard, just like the Huskers, who will send head coach Matt Rhule on Friday for an in-home visit on the right before the dead period.

Unfortunately, Rhule will have his work cut out for him. UCLA has been trending with crystal ball projections (four in total) and it seems like the Bruins are the team to beat.
