Nebraska football has been busy on the recruiting trail as of late, and they were able to pick up a prediction in their favor. Husker247’s Brian Christopherson put in a medium confidence prediction for 2025 three-star edge defender Pierce Mooberry. The prediction was put in with a medium confidence score of six.

Mooberry has been putting together a solid offer sheet over the past couple months. He most recently was offered by Nebraska for on January 3. He took an official visit to Minnesota on October 28 and received an offer on October 29.

Mooberry recorded 68 tackles, three pass breakups, and an interception for Millard North last season.

What could he bring to Nebraska football?

Mooberry measures in at six-foot-four, 200 pounds. He is extremely quick in his lateral movements, and that makes him a force coming out of the defensive backfield. He is able to fill gaps, and excels in stopping opposing running games. Mooberry’s closing speed is equally impressive, and should not be overlooked.

The closing speed and ability to fill gaps are two things that could work well in the current Nebraska football defensive scheme. The Huskers love to play a positionless brand of defense, and several players played at a high level last season because of it.

What does this prediction mean?

This Crystal Ball prediction have several meanings for Nebraska football For one, it means that they have a good shot with yet another player from the state of Nebraska. The state itself has been a major focus in recruiting. Christian Jones is projected to go to Nebraska. Tyson Terry, Caden VerMaas and Conor Booth have all committed to Nebraska already.

Currently, the 2025 Nebraska football recruiting class ranks 22nd overall in the country with four commitments. Obviously, this class is far from finished. Nevertheless, the coaching staff has built a nice base of talent in the class itself.

Landing Mooberry would continue the lockdown of the state’s talent by Nebraska. He would be an excellent addition to a defense that is already well-positioned for the future. These Crystal Balls are by no means concrete, but they do offer at least a glimpse into who is trending for Mooberry.
