Nebraska football signed the final pieces of its 2023 recruiting class on Wednesday and here are our final thoughts.
When it comes to Nebraska football recruiting, it has been a whirlwind since head coach Matt Rhule took over.
Rhule and the Huskers new coaching staff attacked the recruiting trail with an enthusiasm that Scott Frost never had. When asked about it Wednesday, Rhule said it wasn’t anything special. You don’t need extra praise for doing your job.
It was refreshing and just another glimpse into Rhule’s mindset. He talked about how everyone gets at least one spring when asked about guys like Zavier Betts. I have the feeling some won’t want to pay the price that Rhule asks during spring ball, which will lead to the 20 or so departures Nebraska football is going to need.
At any rate, in our latest episode of the Husker Big Red Podcast with myself and Danny Jaillet of the greatcornholio.org, we offered up our final thoughts on the 2023 Nebraska football recruiting class.
The Huskers signed 28 recruits total and finished with the No. 24 recruiting class according to the 247 sports composite rankings. Nebraska football added seven signees since the early signing period and capped it off with Isamel Smith Flores, Jeremiah Charles, Sua Lefotu, Demitrius Bell, and D’Andre Barnes, who signed Wednesday.
We talk about some of our favorite recruits in the 2023 class, recap some of the key additions in the 2023 class and examine who could play early for the Huskers next season. Beyond that, we talk about the 2024 recruiting class, as well as transfer portal additions, and talk about expectations for the 2023 season and beyond.
Of course, we talk about Dylan Raiola too. Here’s the podcast:
