There is a new EDGE target for Nebraska football in 2024 and the Huskers are in good shape after a recent offer.

Nebraska football appears to be far from finished in the 2024 recruiting class as the Huskers have extended a slew of offers just this week.

One of those was to former five-star and JUCO wideout Demond Demas. Nebraska football also offered a JUCO wideout Tre Richardson, who is viewed as one of the top returning prospects in the 2024 class.

Yet, the Huskers haven’t just been offering JUCO prospects. Nebraska football extended a new 2024 offer and that’s at the EDGE position to Jaxon Lee out of Plano, Texas.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise because things seem to be trending in the wrong direction with Jayshawn Ross, a four-star EDGE. He’s going to visit Kansas State this month, so it feels like the Wildcats might be taking hold as the favorite there, especially if a decision comes in October as expected.

Nebraska projected to land Jaxon Lee

Lee is unranked according to the 247 Sports composite rankings, as well as the On3 Industry rankings. However, he was recently committed to Texas Tech. He’s also got offers from Tulsa and Memphis.

The Huskers are just the second power-5 offer for Lee who told Bryan Munson of Husker Online that he will be taking an official visit to Lincoln this weekend.

The 6-foot-2, 222-pound EDGE, or Jack, has been productive for Plano. He had 2.5 sacks last season as a junior but already has seven this season, as well as 29 total tackles and eight tackles for loss.

Plano has him playing with his hand in the dirt. But you can see he has the twitch to play standing up. He’s great with his hands and has really good eyes. He has great awareness in terms of setting the edge and finding the ball.

Matt Rhule and his staff haven’t been afraid to trust their evaluations. They need a pass rusher in the 2024 class and Lee is a dude that definitely has some long-term upside at the position.

Munson has projected Lee to Nebraska football. There aren’t any crystal ball projections at this time, but with a visit coming, it’s not a stretch to think a commitment could follow.
