Nebraska Football: Another 4-star added to spring game visitor list

Nebraska football is playing its spring game on Saturday and it’s shaping up to be a big recruiting weekend for the Huskers.

Matt Rhule and the Nebraska football program have already hosted a big visit weekend this spring back on March 25th. The next one is coming this weekend for the Huskers’ spring game.

As of now, the Huskers are into double-digits in terms of visitors for this weekend. Some of the guys set to be on campus are Brandon Baker, the top offensive tackle in the 2024 class according to On3, as well as Carter Nelson, the top recruit in the state of Nebraska for 2024.

Those aren’t the only guys visiting this weekend and surely, more names will be added in the next few days. Dylan Raiola was supposed to visit for the spring game but isn’t expected now.

Still, things are shaping up to be a solid weekend for Nebraska football and that’s true after another four-star recruit, Makai Saina, announced that he will be on campus for the spring game.

4-star offensive lineman visiting Nebraska

Makai Saina is a 6-foot-4, 290-pound offensive lineman and he’s a guy that Husker fans need to know. He told On3.com that while some schools view him as a guard, he feels like can play tackle, guard, or even center.

Saina recently released a top-10 list that also included Nebraska, TCU, Penn State, Texas A&M, USC, LSU, Michigan, Oregon, Georgia, and Texas. Georgia and Texas both offered last month and the Longhorns are the current leader according to the On3 prediction machine.

Still, it was interesting that Nebraska football made the top 10 without hosting Saina for a visit. However, when you realize that he’s from Arlington, Texas, and played for Bob Wager, it makes sense.

Saina has strong ties to the staff and that should be an advantage for the Huskers. Nebraska has done really well with Texas recruits since Rhule was hired and already has two Lone Star State commitments in 2024.

With some of his recent visits, Saina won’t be an easy pull. However, those ties to Nebraska matter and this weekend’s visit could really change up his recruitment, just like it did for Baker and others who have already scheduled return trips.

Ismael Smith Flores and Jeremiah Charles were teammates of Saina at Arlington-Martin and it will be interesting to see if the Huskers can move near the top of his top 10 after his visit this weekend.
