Nebraska football top target Grant Brix was projected to Oklahoma by a Sooners insider.

Just because it’s a bye week, doesn’t mean there’s not important news regarding Nebraska football and unfortunately, there’s been a slight shakeup in the recruitment of Grant Brix.

It’s been hard to get a read on who’s leading with the four-star offensive tackle ranked 64th overall via the 247 Sports composite rankings.

The 6-foot-5, 285-pound tackle is probably the top target left on the board for the Huskers. Nebraska football head coach Matt Rhhule went to visit Brix this week, the top player in Iowa in 2024.

Yet, in a recruitment that’s been as hard as any to read, Nebraska could be losing momentum to Oklahoma which just got a recent expert projection for the four-star recruit.

It came from an Oklahoma reporter that works for On3.com so take it with a grain of salt. It wasn’t Steve Wiltfong of 247 Sports or even a guy like Chad Simmons of On3.

There is only one crystal ball and it’s from a Kansas State expert for the Wildcats. The only prior prediciton at On3.com was from Bryan Munson who is a team reporter for Nebraska.

Each team could have a reason to feel good in this recruitment but only Brix knows where he’s going to end up. He might not even know right now.

You can see why Oklahoma would be a threat. The Sooners look like a national championship contender. There was talk that Brix didn’t want to leave the Midwest and if that’s the case, Nebraska probably will be the team.

But if he is willing to go outside of the region, the Sooners will probably be the choice. Keep an eye out for more movement in the coming days and weeks. The On3 recruiting prediction machine now favors the Sooners and gives them a 46 percent chance to land his commitment. Nebraska is at 37 percent.
