Things seem to be trending in the right direction for Nebraska football with 5-star QB Dylan Raiola and a new crystal ball is now in for the Huskers.
Everybody knows that the top target for Nebraska football in the 2024 recruiting class is five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola and the Huskers got another positive sign on that front on Monday.
People can take expert projections with a grain of salt and they should. Recruiting experts don’t know everything but generally, they make their picks based on some sort of intel, or when they have enough information to feel comfortable.
Ever since Raiola decommitted from Ohio State, Nebraska football has been firmly in the mix and I strongly believe the Huskers are firmly in the top three.
However, according to Nebraska football insider Mike Schaefer of 247 sports, the Huskers are in the lead, at least that’s what you can gather from his crystal ball which projects Raiola to the Huskers with a confidence level of four on a 1-10 scale.
What to make of Dylan Raiola projection to Nebraska football?
It’s certainly not a bad sign for Nebraska. It’s not Steve Wiltfong, who put in a pick for Georgia last month, but Wiltfong has always said his crystal balls reflect the current pulse of the recruitment, instead of it being a final prediction.
There are two crystal ball projections for Georiga and two for Nebraska football. The Huskers and Bulldogs are both expected to get visits in March. Raiola also went to USC and I’d guess USC is also in the top three.
Georgia did offer another 2024 QB recently, but I wouldn’t read too much into that. UGA already has a QB committed in 2024 and is looking to take a couple. It could be a hedge in case they miss on Raiola, but it’s still too early to speculate.
However, Nebraska clearly has some momentum. The coaching staff led by Matt Rhule has impressed the Raiola’s and the visit in March will be a huge opportunity for Nebraska to potentially seal the deal and land a gamechanger at the quarterback position.
