Nebraska basketball will have an interesting argument draw, as it was announced that they will take on ninth seed Texas A&M as the eighth seed in Memphis, Tenn. Friday.

Texas A&M finished up a 20-14 season with a loss to Florida in the SEC Semifinals. Nebraska basketball was unable to defeat Illinois, as they lost by a 98-87 margin on Saturday in the Big 10 Semifinals.

This will certainly be an interesting game, as Texas A&M has many scores. Will Taylor IV is an explosive guard who averaged 18.9 points this season. He scored 30 points in his team’s loss to Florida in the semifinal. The Aggies also have threats in Solomon Washington at forward and Tyrece Radford at guard. They scored 18 points each in the game against Florida.

This matchup also provides a bit of intrigue in the sense that Nebraska basketball will potentially have a chance to reunite with former athletic director Trev Alberts. There has been a lot of animosity and emotion surrounding his departure, and this could be an opportunity for Nebraska fans see him once again.

Either way, it will be an intriguing matchup, as the program looks to secure their first NCAA tournament win in program history. It’s been a magical year for Fred Hoiberg and the team, and they will look to continue it on the biggest stage. After what has seemed like a long and grueling rebuild, Nebraska basketball will get the chance to show to a national audience that they belong here and that they’re worthy of a spot.
