There has been a lot of positive buzz this offseason about former Kentucky wide receiver Hardley Gilmore, who transferred to Nebraska football during the winter transfer portal window.

However, Gilmore hasn’t been seen with the team this week, according to a report from Sean Callahan of Husker Online.

This started as a message board rumor, and nothing is official, but Callahan’s report at least confirms that Gilmore has missed practice. That could mean different things, but surely, we’ll hear something soon.

The Huskers don’t have a shortage of wide receiver talent, so even if Gilmore isn’t on the team anymore, Nebraska should have the depth to overcome it. That being said, Gilmore has created a ton of buzz this offseason as someone who would contribute in the 2025 season.

It would be a blow. The depth chart would still have Dane Key, Nyziah Hunter, Jacory Barney, Cortez Mills, Isaiah Mozee, Quinn Clark, and Jeremiah Jones, another freshman who is flying a little under the radar, so the Huskers could overcome it, if Gilmore has left the team for whatever reason.

Nebraska football O-line buzz

Steve Sipple of Husker Online reports that Justin Evans is looking like he will be the starting center this season. It always felt like he was the preferred option.

Evans started all 13 games last season at guard, but Matt Rhule has said previously, he sees him as a center. Outside of left tackle, center might be the most important position on the line.

You need that dude to be a stud. Evans is. Elijah Pritchett and Rocco Spindler, two transfer portal additions, have played well. Gunnar Gottula was the starter last season at left tackle, and there’s a good chance he’ll start on the right side.

Henry Lutovsky is a name that keeps popping up. He’s limited but started at right guard last season, so moving to the left side would make sense, although he could be in the mix at right tackle, too.

Grant Brix, Gibson Pyle, Jason Maciejczak, and Sam Sledge are some other names to know. You also have Turner Corcoran and Teddy Prochazka, former starters, battling injuries.

There are still lots of moving parts on the offensive line, and the full picture won’t become clear until the fall, but it’s coming into clearer focus.
