Scott Frost trying to poach a Nebraska football commitment in 2027

Nebraska football is in danger of losing a commitment to former head coach Scott Frost and UCF.

Nebraska football’s most recent commitment is already taking a visit somewhere else.

Kaden Howard, a three-star wide receiver from Florida, is one of the most dynamic players in terms of pure speed in the entire 2027 class.

The 5-foot-10, 160-pound receiver out of Miami Palmetto runs the 100-meter dash in 10.56. He also recently ran the 40-meter dash in under 4.4 seconds. The kid can absolutely fly.

Howard is a playmaker, too. He’s not just a track guy who is trying to play football. Last season, as a junior, he pulled in 25 catches for 510 yards (20.4 YPC) and seven touchdowns.

Nebraska football wanted to add a player like him to the wide receiver room. He’s similar to Larry Miles, a 2026 signee, outside of the explosive, game-changing speed.

Scott Frost trying to flip a Nebraska football pledge

Well, former Nebraska football head coach Scott Frost, a national-championship-winning QB for the Huskers, who is back at UCF for his second term, has also taken notice.

The Knights haven’t offered Howard a scholarship yet, which is curious. However, UCF was able to get Howard to schedule a visit, which isn’t exactly what you wanted as a Nebraska fan just weeks after his commitment.

Howard posted on X that he will take a visit to UCF. He didn’t specify a date. It doesn’t necessarily mean that Howard will flip, but it’s a little disconcerting. It’s also slightly annoying that it’s Scott Frost trying to steal him away.

Surely, the Huskers will have other options, but this is one recruit I’d personally love to see them keep. As we all know, you can’t coach speed. Howard has it, and Nebraska needs it.
