It’s hard to believe that we are more than halfway through the Nebraska football season. What’s also hard to believe is that Early National Signing Day is about six weeks away.
Nebraska football has 11 commitments in the 2026 class. According to the 247 Sports composite rankings, the Huskers’ 2026 recruiting class is ranked 80th overall, out of 134 teams. That haul includes just two four-star prospects (Danny Odem and Claude Mpouma), as well as three recruits ranked outside the top 1,000.
There is still a chance to add to the class, though. There are six targets Nebraska football fans should have on the radar. Five of them are committed to other programs. Another isn’t, but each has visited, or will in the next month.
And this close to signing day, visits are a sign of how serious things are on both sides of a recruitment. We’ll look at the two key 2026 targets on campus this weekend, plus four others that could end up in the class.
Tedarius Hughes, 4-star CB/S
The Florida State commitment has been on Nebraska’s radar for months. He’s been listed as a corner or safety. He could even be a nickel for Nebraska; however, he feels more like a safety at 6-foot-3, 180 pounds.
Hughes is ranked No. 338 overall, according to the Rivals Industry Rankings. Hughes is out of Homestead, Florida. He visited Miami twice this fall. Florida State did just express confidence in head coach Mike Norvell, but it feels like the Huskers have a chance to steal Hughes away with a strong visit this weekend.
Damaad Lewis, EDGE
Nebraska is also battling Florida State for the commitment of Damaad Lewis. He’s 6-foot-3, 235 pounds out of Charlotte, North Carolina. He visited USC back in February, but will take an official visit this weekend.
Florida State has been looming. He’s got offers from USC, Texas, Texas A&M, Florida State, Washington, Minnesota, Rutgers, Cal, Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, Wake Forest, NC State, and Virginia Tech.
The Huskers don’t have any D-line commitments in this class. They need some, and no other seems quite as serious. It wouldn’t be shocking if a commitment, at least a silent pledge, happened this weekend.
Djidjou Bah, DL
Djidjou Bah is a 6-foot-3, 275-pound defensive lineman committed to Wisconsin. He’s expected to visit for a game in November, but the Huskers aren’t the only ones after him. He’s said to be considering the USC game and will visit Georgia Tech this weekend, according to Rivals.
Wisconsin has struggled this season. Yet, it doesn’t appear that Luke Fickell is going to be fired, so flipping Bah might be more difficult than assumed.
Josaiah Teasley
The 6-foot-4 wideout is super talented. He just re-classified, so he would probably be more of a project. Penn State was involved in trying to flip him from Virginia. He took an unofficial visit to Nebraska earlier this month. However, there is an official visit scheduled for Vanderbilt this weekend.
It feels like an official visit to Nebraska will be what’s required to push this one over the line.
Two Penn State commitments
Penn State commitment, three-star wideout Jahsiear Rogers will visit Nebraska next weekend for an official visit, which could be a sign of where things stand. He’s 5-foot-10, 170 pounds, and ranked 470th overall. The size of Teasley would be nice, but Nebraska isn’t lacking in that department.
One area Nebraska is lacking is defensive tackle. That’s why the visit of Tavian Branch, a 6-foot-3, 300-pounder from Taylor, Pennsylvania, who will take an official visit for the Iowa game, will be huge. He’s a three-star recruit and is ranked No. 568 overall via Rivals. Rogers is 410th overall. They are both committed to Penn State.
The only blue-chip left on the board is Hughes. There are no guarantees Nebraska adds any commitments in 2026, but one or two wouldn’t be shocking, especially if Hughes is one of them.
