There isn’t much happening on the recruiting trail for Nebraska football right now. That’s to be expected with the season right around the corner, but there are still a few things to cover in this week’s recruiting watch.
The first is that Nebraska football is still guarding against a flip with four-star cornerback Danny Odem, its top-ranked commitment in the 2026 class.
Ohio State was considered one of the teams to worry about. However, Michigan is a program that keeps getting mentioned. The Wolverines missed on one of their top targets at the position over the weekend, and it wouldn’t be surprising if they tried to flip the 6-foot-2, 180-pound cornerback from Orlando, Florida.
Odem is one of the best man-to-man cornerbacks in this class. He’s the top-ranked pledge for the Huskers, and they have to find a way to keep him, but they will need to sweat it out until Early National Signing Day.
Nebraska football mentioned as a contender for 4-star Miami pledge
Speaking of flips, the Huskers are looking to flip some commitments this fall. One of the players at the top of their list is four-star EDGE Jordan Campbell.
Campbell visited Nebraska during the spring game. There was some thought that he was going to take an official visit. He didn’t take any and stuck to his Miami commitment.
However, according to Chad Simmons of On3.com, Nebraska is a team to watch. If he takes a gameday visit this fall, and if the Huskers can take a third-year leap, it should help win him over.
There were two misses on the trail this week, as Tristan Dare, a 2027 offensive line target who visited Nebraska this spring, committed to Michigan. Cameron Wagner, who visited last month and was communicating with Trae Taylor, also cut out the Huskers from his final list.
