Nebraska football is eating things up on the recruiting trail, and they are projected to land wide receiver Tre Richardson. A prediction was put in by On3’s Bryan Munson.

Richardson is a three-star receiver. He is the 14th overall junior college player in his class, and the third wide receiver in his class overall per On3 rankings.

The receiver currently plays at Hutchinson Community College, and has made his mark as a returner. He has 11 kickoff returns for 341 yards and one touchdown. Richardson has also done some work on punt return, tallying eight returns for 228 yards and two touchdowns. He committed to Hutchinson in January.

Richardson was a dynamic high school player, tallying 50 total touchdowns for Highland Park. He measures in at five-foot-10, 175 pounds. The receiver lacks size, but his playmaking ability certainly makes up for it.

A good development for Nebraska football

This would be a nice get for a Nebraska foot wide receiver room that needs depth. The return skills Richardson brings the table are important as well. Speedy playmakers are needed in the room right now, and he undoubtedly brings a little bit of experience.

Nebraska football has a solid base of freshman players. However, continuing to build depth of the position is important. We have seen how quickly the depth has shrunk for Nebraska over the past couple of weeks alone. Stocking the room is going to be important for competing in the Big Ten.

It will be interesting to see if the expert predictions come true. Munson is usually pretty accurate with his predictions. He holds an 82.22% prediction rate. All things considered, he is fairly accurate. Let’s hope this prediction comes true.
