Pierce Mooberry is one of the most intriguing in-state recruits for Nebraska football in the 2025 class and programs outside the state are taking notice.

Mooberry is a 6-foot-4, 200-pound athlete projected to play linebacker. He was offered by Nebraska football in January. Since then, the Huskers have taken control of the recruitment and control all of the crystal ball projections (three) with an average confidence level of 7 out of 10.

Kansas State and Minnesota are two Midwest programs in the mix. Kansas State has offered and will host Mooberry for an unofficial visit this spring. Minnesota will do the same thing according to Bryan Munson.

Alabama could be a threat for in-state recruit Pierce Mooberry

The biggest threat to Nebraska football for his commitment might be Alabama. The Crimson Tide haven’t offered yet but Kalen DeBoer’s staff has been in contact. Courtney Morgan, who works in their recruiting department is good with evaluations. Mooberry is ranked No. 681 overall in the 247 Sports composite rankings for the 2025 class and is ranked fifth in the state of Nebraska. He’s an athlete with potential.

Alabama could be offering when he visits on April 1st. That will come a few days after the unofficial Nebraska football visit. Mooberry will visit Kansas State and Minnesota also this spring but will be back on June 21st for an official visit that’s where the Huskers can close this thing out.

The Huskers feel like the leader and the fact that they are the only team with a scheduled official visit is a really good sign. June 21st is shaping up to be a big visit weekend and hopefully, by then, Mooberry will be in the mix.

If Alabama offers though, it could change up his recruitment so that’s something to watch.
