Nebraska football is “standing out” for elite 2025 wideout Cortez Mills, plus the Huskers crack the top six for a 2025 O-line prospect.
We are starting to see which recruits Nebraska football is prioritizing in the 2025 class. The Huskers have three commitments already — all from in-state recruits but they are starting to schedule official visits and you can see how the board is developing.
At wide receiver, nobody is higher on the board than Cortez Mills. The 6-foot-1, 170-pounder out of Coral Gables, Florida is ranked 130th overall in the 247 Sports composite rankings for the 2025 class. He’s also ranked as the No. 18 wide receiver and for good reason.
The kid can fly. Matt Rhule and Nebraska football have been all over him and according to Chad Simmons of On3.com, the Huskers are one of the programs “standing out” for Mills.
Miami, Clemson, LSU, and Penn State are the other programs that Mills mentioned. Here is what Mills said about Nebraska to On3.com:
“When I first got out there, I could feel the vibe. The environment was outstanding there. They showed a bunch of love. It was cold… but once I got used to it, it wasn’t that bad. The facility was amazing and I just can’t wait until it’s done so that when I take my official visit and see it again, I know it’s going to be one of the top facilities in college football.”
Mills said that Georgia and Florida State are two other programs in the mix. Remember, Phil Simpson was just hired away from Nebraska by Florida State, and the former Miami Dade high school coach could have an impact on the recruitment of Mills.
Regardless, Mills is a tip-top target for the Huskers and he’s already talked about coming to Lincoln for an official visit for the Colorado game this fall.
Nebraska cracks the top six for Missouri offensive tackle
Jack Lange is a 6-foot-8, 275-pound tackle out of Eureka, Missouri and late last week, he released a final six that included Nebraska football, Missouri, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Michigan, and Wisconsin according to 247 Sports.
The massive offensive tackle is going to visit all six programs during the spring which includes a planned trip to Lincoln on March 24th.
Notre Dame has emerged as the favorite according to the crystal ball projections. But there is just one so far. Lange’s visit is set to be an unofficial one to the Huskers and the goal for Nebraska should be to get him back for an official visit.
Then, they’ll have a realistic shot at a commitment.
