Nebraska Athletics has been a little less busy over the past couple of weeks in terms of news. However, football recruiting is continuing to happen at a fast pace, and volleyball recruiting is also heating up as well.

Even if sports are not being played, this time of year is still important. The month of June has been used to build the foundation of the program for the future. Now, it’s about sharing that momentum into the fall.

With that in mind, we take a look at some of the biggest news stories heading into Monday.

Bryson Webber trending to Huskers

Nebraska football has had a busy recruiting weekend over the past couple of days, and despite some bad news, they got some good news as well. 2025 4-star corner Bryson Webber got projected to Nebraska football on Sunday afternoon.

Weber was part of the long list of visitors that came to Lincoln over the weekend. He has had a busy month, visiting Utah on June 3, Baylor on June 7, and TCU on June 13. However, he received an expert prediction from Brian Christopherson of Husker247. Christopherson put in the prediction late Sunday afternoon.

Nebraska football needs corner depth, and Weber would certainly be a good fit. He measures in at six-foot-two, 175 pounds. He also has a ton of speed, as he ran a 10.56 100 m dash and a 21.79 200 m dash in the spring.

Weber would not fix Nebraska football’s immediate need for a corner. However, he does give them an opportunity for depth, so that they are not scrambling for production at the corner position in the future.

Brian Tapu goes to Oregon State

There was also some unfortunate news on the recruiting trail for Nebraska over the weekend. Brian Tapu committed to Oregon State on Sunday. This was a bit of a surprise, as several experts, and us, thought he was going to be a member of the Nebraska football program. Instead, he went to Oregon State.

Tapu committed to Oregon State on Sunday, and what was a miss for Nebraska football. This is a commitment that I would still watch closely. The Huskers could have a chance to flip him at the end of the season. This is one of those cases where winning a couple more games last year could have helped.

The foundation for the program is being built. Nebraska has recruited well, all things considered. However, until they start winning, they may lose some of these recruiting battles. Again, Nebraska is certainly not out of it with Tapu. This could be a recruitment they circle back around to later on in the year.

Jayden Robinson commits to Nebraska Volleyball

Nebraska volleyball also picked up a commitment this weekend. Jayden Robinson joined the 2026 class, and is the second member overall in the class.

Robinson is the fifth overall recruit in the 2026 class, and put together some impressive numbers. The junior averaged 2.4 kills with a. 279 hitting percentage. She will take her talents to the international stage, as she will be part of the U 19 national team this summer.
