Nebraska football has been recruiting at a high level over the past couple of weeks, as they continue to send out offers and schedule visits. One recruit to pay particularly close attention to is 2025 four-star corner Adonyss Currie.
He is the 23rd overall corner in the 2025 class, and the 17th overall player in his class from the state of California per the 247Sports Composite rankings. He is a rising prospect, and has 21 offers in total. Nebraska, Texas A&M, Utah, and Washington, seem to be the top programs in line for his services.
With that being said, he also has a slew of visits lined up over the next couple months. He is scheduled to visit Nebraska on April 27. He is also set to have a busy month of June, as he will visit Washington on June 1, Miami on June 8, and Utah on June 15.
Currie is a California native, and measures in at six-foot-two, 165 pounds. He was a 100 m dash freshman champion, showcasing his speed.
What can he bring to Nebraska Football?
Currie is a very instinctual corner. He does a good job of tracking the football, and uses his athleticism to make a play. His instincts are one of the strongest parts of his game, and it allows him to be a good cover corner.
Currie is not limited to just being a cover corner. He can make plays in the run as well. He is not afraid to come down and make a tackle, and he uses that same blend of speed and instincts in order to do so. His multifaceted game is undoubtedly something that is worth noting.
That type of versatility is exactly what Nebraska football wants on their defense. We saw a bunch of times last year where multiple players showed various skill sets throughout the course of the year. Today’s game needs defenders to be versatile and agile. Currie certainly brings that to the table.
Much like several of these visits with high-tier prospects, landing Currie is going to be a bit of an uphill battle. The Huskers could very well be on outside looking in for this recruitment. Nevertheless, getting him into town for the Red-White Game is certainly a step in the right direction.
