Nebraska football fans are over the moon excited about quarterback Dylan Raiola. The former five-star quarterback is expected to be named the starter soon.

Matt Rhule said that he would name a starting quarterback this week and everyone expects that to be Raiola. There are plenty of reasons to be excited about Daniel Kaelin too. Rhule laid out some of those on Saturday but Dylan Raiola came to Nebraska to restore the Huskers to greatness and it starts this season.

On Monday, when Rhule joined the “Jim Rome Show” he was asked what makes Dylan Raiola special.

Why Nebraska football QB Dylan Raiola is special

“He’s had a great summer and a great camp,” Rhule said. “Obviously, he arrives with a lot of fanfare and that’s well-deserved. I remember the first time I saw him throw at a high school practice, and during my time in Carolina I’d gone to all sorts of quarterback pro days and watched guys throw the ball, and as a junior getting ready to be a senior in high school, he threw the ball as well as any of those guys.

“He has tremendous arm talent. He’s big; he’s physical. But it’s not until he gets here that you truly see what makes him special. He’s a tremendous teammate and works at it all day long. He is one of the first guys in the building and one of the last guys to leave and he’s humble. (Dylan) has humble confidence that exudes from him.”

Rhule also said when you’re trying to turn around a program, you want to “find the winners and get them on the field.”

Nebraska football has done that with Dylan Raiola. Now, let’s name him the starting quarterback and start winning.
