Nebraska football got an expert prediction on Monday for four-star quarterback TJ Lateef. The prediction was put in by Steve Wilfong of ON3.

Lateef is the 17th overall quarterback in the 2025 class, and the 23rd overall player in his class from the state of California per the 247Sports composite rankings. He is a four-star recruit.

His recruitment has been active on the Nebraska front, as he most recently visited Lincoln for the spring game on April 26. Prior to the visit, he was offered by the program on February 5.

Currently, Nebraska football is in the lead for his recruitment, according to the On3 Prediction machine.

This would certainly be a big commitment. Nebraska football and him. This would give them another quarterback to add to the room for the future. Lateef threw for 1,965 yards, 13 touchdowns, and seven interceptions in 2023.

Lateef is the type of quarterback that Nebraska football wants to recruit for the future. One of the things that he does really well is pass in the pocket. The quarterback is able to go through his progressions, and that allows him to get the football down the field quickly. He does a good job of setting his feet and the ball gets to its intended target quickly.

A trend for Nebraska football

When you look at the way he plays, it is similar to that of the current quarterbacks on the roster. All have the ability to throw down the field and stay in the pocket. Dylan Raiola and Daniel Kaelin in particular possess that quality. With the way this offensive line is being built, this is the type of quarterback that Nebraska football needs to go after.

It will be fascinating to see how this recruitment plays out, and it appears that all signs are shifting into Nebraska’s favor. The program has been on the hunt for another quarterback to add to the room, and Lateef would be a high-caliber one. Matt Rhule and his coaching staff have made it a focus to land quality quarterback talent, and this certainly falls under that category.
