It’s almost June, and Nebraska Athletics are still staying busy. For the baseball team, their first game of the NCAA tournament begins on Friday. The Stillwater regional promises to provide excitement, as Nebraska baseball takes on the Florida gators.

Nebraska football has had several game times announced over the past week or so. Night games seem to be the theme for the 2024 season, as the Huskers will get ample opportunities in prime time.

The basketball program is still staying busy in the transfer portal, as they have reached out to another highly-touted transfer forward. We will see what comes of it, but things sound promising.

You can check all of this out and more in our daily Nebraska roundup.

Nebraska football game times announced

Nebraska football season is quickly approaching, and several game times were announced on Thursday. The headliner of this group was the Iowa game. It was announced that the game would take place at 6:30 PM central time on November 29.

Several other game times were announced, and schedule itself features a bunch of night games. You can read more about the schedule changes here.

Nebraska baseball begins NCAA tournament run

Nebraska baseball is set to take on Florida in the first game of the Stillwater regional. The Huskers are coming off a successful week in the Big Ten tournament, that saw them capture their first tournament title in school history.

Brett Sears is projected to take the mound for Nebraska. He comes into Friday’s action fresh off clinching the Big Ten tournament title in relief. The Big 10 Pitcher of the Year will look to start off strong in the double elimination tournament.

The Gators come in with a 28-27 record. They are coming off a 6-3 loss to Vanderbilt in the first game of the SEC tournament.

Nebraska’s bats will need to continue to perform at a high level. Everything was firing on all cylinders last weekend for Nebraska, but this is a much bigger stage. Game time is set for 2:00 PM CT.

Nebraska showing interest in highly-touted forward

Nebraska basketball continues to be active on the recruiting trail. They reportedly have the highest bid for Arkansas forward Trevon Brazile.

Brazile averaged 8.6 points and 5.9 rebounds per contest last season. He can shoot both in the paint and from beyond the arc. One of the highlights of his 2023 season was a double-double against Duke. He was able to score 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in that contest.

Nebraska basketball has two scholarship spots left. Adding Brazile would help complete the roster, and give the program another impact player to build around. As it stands right now, Nebraska has another solid roster to make an NCAA tournament run.
