Nebraska football will host Michigan State this weekend, not only for an important game on the field, but also for an important recruiting weekend for the Huskers.
Most of the recruits who will be on campus are in the 2027 and 2028 classes. Nebraska football isn’t bringing in as many visitors as it did in the past, but that’s everyone across college football.
Five-star safety Tory Pittman will be back on campus. Nebraska football continues to do a great job with its top-ranked commitment in the 2027 class. Trae Taylor is expected back on campus, too, after getting a ratings bump earlier this week. He’s 63rd overall in the 247 Sports composite rankings for 2027.
Four-star tight end Cooper Terwillinger, a 2027 tight end, just included Nebraska in his top four. He will be in Lincoln this weekend. Michigan, Iowa, and Iowa State are the other contenders for the 6-foot-6 tight end from South Dakota. Four-star DE Frederick Ards, four-star offensive lineman Kyler Kuhn, and four-star linebacker Gavin Stecker will also be on campus from the 2027 class.
There are at least eight blue-chip prospects who will visit this weekend. However, there is one recruit in the 2026 class that Nebraska football fans should keep a close eye on.
Nebraska football recruit to watch this weekend
The Huskers just lost a wide receiver commitment in the 2026 class. In response to that, a couple of new offers went out. One of them was to three-star Josiah Teasley. Milan Parris was the other.
Teasley is an intriguing prospect. He’s ranked No. 1,733, according to the Rivals Industry Rankings. Yet, he just re-classified to the 2026 class. He’s committed to Virginia, but spent last weekend visiting Penn State for the Nittany Lions game for Oregon.
The 6-foot-4, 180-pound receiver is out of Springfield, Virginia. He runs the 40-meter dash in 4.52. Nebraska doesn’t have a huge need at receiver, but you can always find room for a recruit with major upside, especially when you only have 11 commitments.
Danny Odem update
After visiting Penn State last weekend, Odem has been talking to Michigan about a gameday visit to Ann Arbor. Clemson and Ohio State are other programs in the mix for the four-star cornerback ranked No. 164 overall, according to the Rivals Industry Rankings.
Odem is one of the best man-to-man corners in the class. He’s good enough to play right away, and after losing the commitment of CJ Bronaugh to Florida, this would be a tough pill to swallow if the Huskers can’t keep him.
