Nebraska Football: Could another WR be on the way?

Nebraska football could be in the running for a wide receiver commitment. JUCO wide receiver Demond Demas updated his Instagram bio to reflect him as a wide receiver for Nebraska football.

Demas has been connected with Nebraska football for quite a while now. He received an offer from Nebraska foot back in October, and he received expert predictions to go to the program that same day. Sean Callahan and Bryan Munson of HuskerOnline put them in.

Demas originally committed to Texas A&M in 2020. He made a minor impact at Texas A&M, recording 15 catches for 235 yards and one touchdown in 14 games. However, legal troubles led him to getting suspended from the University. He found a home with Garden City Community College for the 2023 season.

He tallied 29 catches for 329 yards and a touchdown for Garden City this fall.

A good get for Nebraska Football

This would be a nice get for Nebraska football, as they need depth at the wide receiver position. There is going to be a lot of youth coming in at receiver in future classes. Dae’vonn Hall and Isaiah McMorris are two of the bigger names. JaCory Barney is going to be a nice piece in addition to those two. However, an upperclassmen presence is going to be needed in the wide receiver room. Demas would be able to provide that.

In addition, this would be another instance where the coaching staff lands another player out of the state of Texas. This has been a theme for this staff ever since their arrival to Lincoln. The Texas connections have been a well-established part of the program.

It will be interesting to see if Demas ends up committing to Nebraska football. However, the updated Instagram biography is certainly a clue that he may be coming to Lincoln. This would add to what has been a busy week for the program already.
