Nebraska football fans won’t like the latest update from CBS Sports college football insider Chris Hummer, who reported on Tuesday that Huskers quarterback Dylan Raiola is considering the transfer portal.

Hummer reported before the Iowa game that Nebraska football was concerned about Raiola leaving for the transfer portal. On Tuesday, in an article about quarterbacks that “other teams are monitoring”, Raiola’s name came up. Here’s what Hummer wrote about the Huskers QB:

“As CBS Sports previously reported, there’s some concern in Lincoln about Raiola’s future with the program. Those in Raiola’s camp strongly considered the portal last offseason, and that’s the case again ahead of the winter portal window.”

Matt Rhule wants Dylan Raiola back

Raiola’s uncle, Donovan Raiola, was fired as the offensive line coach over the weekend. He was replaced with Georgia offensive line coach Geep Wade, who feels like a home-run hire.

Dayton Raiola, the younger brother of Dylan, who was committed as part of the 2026 class for over a year, suddenly decommitted weeks before Early Signing Day.

There are signs that Dylan Raiola could be leaving. TJ Lateef, who started when Raiola was injured, when 1-2 as a starter. He completed 13-of-15 passes in a win over UCLA, but struggled against Penn State and Iowa.

Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule said recently he wants both quarterbacks to come back next season. That would be ideal for the Huskers but in this new era, it’s hard, although not impossible, to see that happening.

We should know soon enough. The portal opens January 2nd.
