Things are picking up on the recruiting trail and there were some interesting developments for Nebraska football on Tuesday as one of the top players in the state canceled his visit and committed elsewhere.

Reiman Zebert, who is from Springfield, Nebraska, announced that he was canceling his official visit to the Huskers on Tuesday. Soon after, he was committed to Stanford. The 6-foot-6, 210-pound tight end is ranked 807th overall in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. He was also ranked fifth in the state of Nebraska.

Zebert isn’t as well-known as Chase Loftin, another 6-foot-6 tight end from the 2025 class. Nebraska football might not have room for both after taking the commitment of Bear Tenney, so that could be a reason to view all of this as a positive sign for the Huskers.

Or, it could be totally unrelated. Zebert visited Stanford on May 31st and canceled all of his other visits before he committed to the Cardinal. Yes, it could mean that Nebraska is in a good spot with Loftin. There was a similar situation with Carter Nelson and an in-state prospect in the 2024 class.

There isn’t room for everyone. So while it’s a bummer to see Zebert leave the state, as long as Nebraska football lands Chase Loftin, it’s not a huge concern. Missing out both would be another story completely.

Nebraska Cornhuskers add key bat via transfer portal in baseball

Nebraska had a stellar run during the baseball season winning the Big Ten tournament title as well as a game in the NCAA tournament.

Will Bolt’s team is looking to build on that success yet there are tons of players who have decisions to make. But one player who will play for the Cornhuskers in 2025 is Cael Frost, the Summit League Player of the Year, who will transfer to play for Nebraska baseball next season.

The former South Dakota State outfielder hit .343 last season and also blasted 23 home runs. He also notched 16 doubles, drove in 59 runs, and scored 53 times.
