If there is one thing Nebraska football fans can feel good about right now, it’s the 2027 recruiting class.

That’s even more true after the Huskers landed a third top-100 commitment in the class on Sunday after the commitment of four-star defensive back Corey Hadley.

The nickel/safety is ranked 95th overall. He’s ranked seventh among safeties, giving Nebraska two of the best defensive backs in the 2027 class, along with Trae Taylor on offense.

It would be nice to pair another elite talent with Taylor on that side of the ball, which Nebraska football is diligently working to do.

Nebraska football visits 5-star tight end ahead of spring decision

The Huskers are in the final two for five-star tight end Ahmad Hudson, a 6-foot-6, 239-pound tight end, who is ranked 18th overall, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.

LSU is the other top contender. That’s going to be an issue since Hudson is from Louisiana. Lane Kiffin also has a much better history of developing NFL talent than Matt Rhule does. The Huskers had just one pick in the 2027 NFL draft.

Still, Hudson has a great relationship with Trae Taylor. He’s expected to visit Nebraska and LSU before making a decision. Yet, the Huskers reminded him of how important he is to them on Monday, as Keith Williams made his way to Louisiana to visit the five-star prospect.

Williams is the Senior Director of Player Personnel and Recruiting. This one visit won’t move the needle or change anything about the decision, but it’s all about a steady drum for the Huskers in an effort to do all they can to land Hudson, who would take their 2027 recruiting class to the next level.
