3 2025 recruits Nebraska football could flip before signing day

Nebraska football has built a solid 2025 recruiting class but here are three commitments who could be flipped and added to it.

Even though the Nebraska football fanbase is focused on the Indiana game and the prospect of the Huskers finally reaching a bowl game for the first time since 2016, it’s not time to forget about recruiting.

The Huskers have 19 commitments in the 2025 class. Seven of those are blue-chippers (4-stars or better) according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.

Nebraska football could be looking to add another blue chip or two to the 2025 class, but in order to make that happen, it wil require a flip.

Ka’Mori Moore is a former Oklahoma commitment. The defensive lineman who is 6-foot-1, 295 according to 247 Sports, will visit for the UCLA game. He’s a three-star prospect ranked No. 775 overall.

Moore would be a solid addition for Nebraska football in the 2025 class and the Huskers feel like the favorite. But here are three 2025 recruits who I’d love to see the Huskers flip before Early Signing Day.

4-star LB Dawson Merritt (Alabama)

Keep an eye on four-star linebacker Dawson Merritt out of Stilwell, Kansas. His dad is an assistant coach for the Kansas City Chiefs. Merritt who is ranked No. 112 overall is 6-foot-3, 215 pounds.

He would be a dream addition to the 2025 class and has taken multiple visits. The linebacker/EDGE is committed to Alabama but the Tide have been shaky on defense.

Rhule spent last week at one of his high school games and it’s hard to see the Nebraska football head coach doing that unless he believed there was a chance to flip Merritt.

The odds are probably still against the Huskers but you have to love the effort.

3-star WR Jordan Allen (Louisville)

The Huskers recently landed the commitment of Dayon Raiola in the 2026 class. One of his teammates, and the teammate of Dylan Raiola, Jordan Allen, is another name to know in terms of flips.

The 5-foot-8, 170-pound receiver plays for Buford and is committed to Louisville. The three-star is ranked No. 761 overall in the 2025 class. He caught a 64-yard touchdown from Dayton earlier this month and he’s a burner. He ran a 10.98 in the 100 as a sophomore.

Nebraska offered and the hope is that the Huskers can get him on campus for a visit. There’s the UCLA game and the Wisconsin game. Get him to one of those and Nebraska will have a real shot at flipping him.

4-star TE Chase Loftin (Florida State)

I was bummed when Nebraska whiffed on Chase Loftin. The tight end room has talent in the future but you can never have enough talent. Ever.

You also can’t have enough blue-chip prospects on your team. Loftin is a blue chipper from Nebraska’s backyard. Florida State was able to steal him away but after a terrible start by the Noles, you wonder if the Huskers could get him to reconsider.

I’m sure they aren’t the only team that’s trying, but with the way Dylan Raiola has played, that has to be appealing. Nebraska football landed the top-ranked recruit in the state (Christian Jones) for the 2025 class. Why not push for No. 2?

Right the wrong.
