It’s early to be talking about a bowl game but here are the latest bowl projections for Nebraska football following the loss to Michigan.

Nebraska football fans suffered another disappointment last Saturday as the Huskers failed to end their now 28-game losing streak against ranked teams.

Michigan defeated Nebraska 30-27. It doesn’t mean the season is over or that the sky is falling. Far from it. Nebraska will likely be the favorite or a close underdog in every single game, save Penn State. There could be a larger spread for that game, but probably still within 10 points.

The Huskers can still be a nine or 10-win team. They just lost their margin for error. As far as the loss to Michigan, it hurt Nebraska in terms of some of the bowl projections — not that it matters — there will be plenty of time to move up in the bowl pecking order.

The fact is, Nebraska would like to be in the playoffs, avoiding the bowl games altogether. Yet, even after the loss to Michigan, Nebraska is positioned for some good bowl games, and one matchup that would get fans excited.

Athlon and USA Today have the Huskers playing in the Reliaquest Bowl against either Ole Miss and Oklahoma. A Nebraska-Oklahoma matchup in Orlando would be a lot of fun.

CBS Sports has Nebraska football playing Texas in the Citrus Bowl. Dylan Raiola and Arch Manning squaring off would be intriguing.

College Football News has the Huskers going to the Rate Bowl in Phoenix, while ESPN projects them to wind up in Las Vegas to face Cal or Utah. SI has Nebraska in the Music City Bowl against South Carolina.

Nebraska has a bye this week and will host Michigan State next Saturday at 3 PM CST.
