Tyson Terry could follow in Nash Hutmacher’s footsteps

Nebraska football commitment Tyson Terry could be the next Nash Hutmacher and talks about wrestling for the Huskers.

There are lots of things to be excited about in the 2025 Nebraska football recruiting class. The Huskers have a bunch of talented recruits coming for visits.

However, they already have one of the top players in the state of Nebraska committed in the 2025 class and that’s Tyson Terry, who isn’t just a football standout, but quite possibly the best wrestler in the state of Nebraska too.

Terry just picked up a fourth-star in the Rivals recruiting rankings, but he’s still ranked as a three-star in the 247 Sports composite rankings and is No. 652 overall.

Of course, with Nash Hutmacher taking his talents to the Nebraska wrestling team, in addition to the football team, it was worth wondering if Terry, who is 136-0 as a heavyweight, would wrestle with the Huskers.

According to what Terry told Husker Online, the door is at least open.

“I am playing football at Nebraska for sure,” Terry said. “Especially since Nash has started to wrestle there at Nebraska, there has been some thought about doing both. As of right now, I want to focus on football there”

“The wrestling side has definitely been on my mind to possibly practice with the team during the off-season or even start to compete. I guess we will see in the future. There is a possibility of doing it, and I think it could help me with conditioning for football.”

Matt Rhule seems all for it and as I’ve said before, I freaking love defensive linemen who wrestle and regardless, I can’t wait for Terry to dominate in the Big Red.
