Ever since Pryce Sandfort entered the transfer portal, he’s been on the wishlist of Nebraska basketball fans.

That wish is closer to becoming a reality as Robin Washut of Husker Online reports that Sandfort will visit Nebraska basketball this week.

This is massive news for the Huskers who will have to replace their two-best players in Brice Williams and Juwan Gary. Fred Hoiberg has talked about adding more 3-point shooting and Sandfort would fill that need.

The Iowa transfer made 57 3-pointers last season. He also shot 40 percent from 3-point range on his way to averaging 8.8 points per game. He only averaged 2.9 rebounds per game, but played just 22 minutes per game. He’s also an effective 2-point scorer.

Sandfort would be a great start to rebuilding the roster and could be an ideal option to start at three for Nebraska basketball. We’ll see where things go, but recruitments tend to move quickly in the portal, so this visit may lead to a commitment, which would be a great start to the offseason.

Another transfer portal target from Charlotte

The last time Nebraska basketball dipped into the transfer portal for a player from Charlotte (Brice Williams), it worked out pretty well. The Huskers need a point guard, and a scoring guard would be ideal.

That’s where Nik Graves comes in. The 6-foot-3 guard from Charlotte has one reason remaining and scored 17 points per game last season. He’s a career 33 percent 3-point shooter and made 61 triples last season.

Graves’ defensive numbers could be better, but he also is a playmaker and averaged 2.7 assists last season. Nebraska needs more scoring, 3-point shooting, and playmaking. It also needs a point guard and Graves, who the Huskers are in contact with, would make a lot of sense.
