Nebraska football is trying to work their magic again on the recruiting trail, as they are hosting 2025 four-star linebacker Emmanuel Karmo for a visit on June 21.

Karmo is the 36th overall linebacker in the 2025 class, and the top player in his class from the state of Minnesota per the 247Sports composite rankings. The linebacker committed to Minnesota on April 12th.

Nebraska football is not the only team that will be having him in for a visit. Wisconsin will be hosting him on May 31. He will visit Minnesota again on June 7, go to Ohio State on June 14, and then end his slate of visits with Nebraska.

This is certainly an interesting development, as Nebraska looks to continue to add linebacker depth for the coming years. Right now, the huskers have a bunch of linebackers in the 2025 class, headlined by Caden VerMaas. Jackson Carpenter and Tanner Terch are also options at the linebacker position.

Karmo played both sides of the football in high school had 48 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, two sacks, and interception that he took for a touchdown. On the offensive side of football, he had 15 receptions for 294 yards and three touchdowns.

It’s easy to see why he is so effective at linebacker. As soon as the ball is snapped, he uses the combination of his speed and instincts in order to get into the backfield. He takes good pursuit angles, and is able to get into the backfield quickly. Even as a linebacker, he was able to play off the edge. This made him an effective pass-rusher and disrupted the timing of the offense’s plays.

A strong 2025 Nebraska football recruiting class

Nebraska football is looking to swing big in the 2025 class, and the class itself is turning out strong. Currently, it ranks 30th overall nationally per the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Nebraska football has done good work of sealing the deal with recruits while on campus. Karmo would be a solid addition to a defensive group that is extremely strong. Defense seems to be the focus of the class right now, and that’s not a bad thing at all. On top of this, linebackers play a major role in Tony White’s 3-3-5 defense. Karmo could make an impact right away.
