It’s Colorado week and Nebraska football fans have been waiting for this for a while. The Buffaloes drubbed the Huskers a year ago in Boulder.

Now, Nebraska is seeking payback. The two teams will meet in primetime in what should be a frothing Lincoln Memorial Stadium. It could be as loud as it’s ever been on Saturday night.

Nebraska and Colorado go way back. Their rivalry dates back to the days of the Big 8 and there is no love lost between the two programs. Shedeur Sanders has said that Nebraska “disrespected” Colorado by going on the Buffalo logo in the middle of the field during warmups last season.

Matt Rhule has said he has nothing but respect for Colorado and Sanders, who he said has a “big-time arm.” The one big difference this year is that Nebraska will have Dylan Raiola — not a quarterback who couldn’t handle a snap.

Nebraska’s defense looked stellar on Saturday too, plus the ground game churned out over 200 yards and averaged 4.7 yards per attempt. Of course, this was against UTEP. We all know the first real test will come on Saturday night.

Here’s a look at the odds, how to watch, and an early prediction.

Nebraska football vs. Colorado odds

According to DraftKings, Nebraska is a 7.5-point favorite against Colorado. The over/under is 57.5 points and the money line is -265 for Nebraska and +215 for Colorado.

Nebraska vs. Colorado prediction

Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter, and Jimmy Horn Jr. are studs. Colorado has some talented other players too, but those are the playmakers. That’s the focal point of the offense and to be fair, the Huskers couldn’t stop it last season.

But, this is a different Nebraska football team. The offense put the defense in some terrible positions last year. It was the opposite of what you’d call complementary football.

With Dylan Raiola playing quarterback, that won’t happen again. Quarterback went from a weakness to a strength. Now, I’d say the Buffs and Huskers are just about even there.

Sanders has the experience edge, but the arm talent is equal and might even favor Raiola. Nebraska also has an edge in the trenches, on defense, and when it comes to running the football — something the Buffs don’t seem interested in doing.

That’s all well and good but football is football. You have to run. You have to tackle and with the QB advantage negated, the Huskers will beat Colorado, and they will cover for the second straight week.

Prediction: Nebraska 34, Colorado 24.
